Shahd’s New Wheels: A Fresh Start in a New Home

Meet Shahd, a bright and resilient little girl who recently arrived in the U.S. as a refugee from Syria. Born with Spina Bifida, she is paralyzed from the chest down, making mobility a daily challenge.

But thanks to a generous grant from LDS Charities, we were able to provide Shahd with a much-needed wheelchair—just in time for her to start school! Now, she has the freedom to learn, explore, and make new friends in her new home.

Just look at that smile—a reminder of how life-changing mobility can be!
