Need Mobility or Adaptive Equipment?

Ability Found obtains mobility equipment through organizations and people like you who donate money to help us purchase new equipment and parts. We also obtain equipment through both new and used in-kind donations. We then we adapt this mobility equipment for the use of others. We spend a great deal of time and effort finding mobility equipment that meets your needs. We charge a low-cost fee for this service. Ability Found provides equipment based upon the diagnoses and disabilities of the people we serve as opposed to financial qualifications.

Manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, walking devices, gait trainers, standing frames, hospital beds, specialty mattresses, commode chairs, specialty shower chairs, adapted toilet seats, shower chairs, tub benches, grab bars and rails, manual/power patient lifts, transfer devices, sliding boards, adapted pediatric strollers, adapted pediatric daily and feeding chairs, pediatric toileting equipment, pediatric bathing equipment, augmentative communication devices, hygiene aids, oxygen concentrators, temporary ramps, vehicle lifts for wheelchairs, lifts for home entry, lifts for stairs.

❌ What we don't provide

Medical supplies, diabetic supplies, glucose meters, diabetic test strips, wound care supplies including dressings, bandages, and wound vacuums. Custom orthotics and prosthetics, incontinence supplies, catheters, bowel care supplies and treatments, financial assistance toward monthly respiratory services, financial assistance for medications, financial assistance toward home rents and mortgages, financial assistance toward medical and mobility equipment co-pays, financial assistance toward home improvements for access.

How it Works

  1. Donation: We receive mobility equipment through monetary or in-kind donations.
  2. Customization: Equipment is adapted to fit individual needs.
  3. Accessibility: We provide equipment at a low-cost fee to ensure access for those who need it.

How to apply for equipment

  • Please begin by having a discussion with your physical or occupational therapist regarding your specific mobility needs to determine what equipment might best meet your situation. Your provider can submit an request to Ability Found on your behalf.

  • If you do not have a physical or occupational therapist, then we will assist you in determining which type
    of mobility equipment might work best for you and whether Ability Found can provide it. To inquire about what equipment we currently have, we are best reached through the ‘contact us’
