Our Founders
Ability Found was inspired by Ernest & Anneke Robison and their son, Matthew. Born in 1988 with severe disabilities, Matthew faced immense challenges, yet his life highlighted a greater struggle—many individuals with disabilities lack access to essential assistive equipment.
Determined to make a difference, the Robisons founded Ability Found in 1993. Since then, the nonprofit has been providing life-changing equipment, empowering individuals with independence, safety, and dignity.

Ability Found's Mission
Ernest Robison often says he has the "best job in the world" because he witnesses miracles firsthand—seeing people gain newfound capabilities and freedom they never had before.
He is continually inspired by the success stories and heartfelt thank-you letters from those whose lives have been transformed. Through Ability Found, he and his team work tirelessly to provide essential mobility and medical equipment to those in need, ensuring that no one is left without the tools to live a fuller, more independent life.
Many times, tears flow as individuals discover new hope and possibilities. It’s a truly rewarding and life-changing mission.

A Monument to Matthew
In 2000, Ernest Robison and his cousin, Susan Comish, created a sculpture to mark Matthew’s grave in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. The statue, depicting Matthew rising from his worn wheelchair and ascending to heaven, has inspired many facing similar challenges.
Engraved on the back are these words:
"In memory of those who walk more closely in the hands of God, humbly lifting the world and inspiring hearts. With their legacy complete, they return home to behold His face and be wholly healed in joy forever."

The Inspiration Behind Ability Found
Matthew Robison’s life was filled with challenges, but his story became the heart of Ability Found. His strength and spirit inspired a mission to provide life-changing mobility and medical equipment, making sure others facing similar struggles get the support they need.
