Matthew's Statue
In the year 2000, to mark Matthew’s grave, Ernest
Robison and his cousin Susan Comish fabricated a sculpture of Matthew
and others like him. It stands in the Salt Lake City Cemetery and has
inspired many people who have dealt with life’s challenges similar to
Matthew. It depicts Matthew climbing out of his worn wheelchair, being
healed, going to heaven, and returning to God.
Ernest Robison dedicated this statue to all those with disabilities, with these words inscribed on the back of the statue base:
"In memory of those who walk more closely in the hands of God,
And who more humbly lift the world inspiring the hearts of men.
With their legacy complete, in love, they return home again to God.
To behold his face and be wholly healed in joy forever more."

Eleanor's Statue
The Eleanor statue, sculpted in 2021, holds a profound backstory rooted in the cherished memories of Ernest Robison's beloved aunt. Born on a warm August day in 1921, Eleanor brought immeasurable joy to her family with her radiant presence, adorned with golden curls and captivating blue eyes. She possessed a natural charisma and an unparalleled zest for life, becoming a beacon of light and hope in her home.
Tragically, Eleanor's journey was cut short when, in the bitter cold of February 1925, she was struck by acute heart trouble. Despite her illness, her spirit remained resilient as her family tirelessly cared for her, wheeling her in a baby buggy day and night, singing to her at her request. Eleanor passed away on May 15, 1925.
Ernest chose to honor her memory by naming the Eleanor statue after her, a symbol of her enduring legacy of love, compassion, and strength. Through this memorial, Eleanor's spirit lives on, inspiring all who encounter her story to cherish each moment and embrace the power of healing as we return to God.
